Start at the Jenison Field House on MSU's Campus. This trip is perfect for the moderately experienced paddler. The Spartan Country Adventure starts on the Red Cedar River, just past the rippling rapids deep in the heart of Michigan State University's campus. "On the banks of the Red Cedar," you'll be surrounded by towering trees above you as you kayak through the MSU campus, before winding around the outer edge of Potter Park. About 2/3 of the way through your trip, the Red Cedar River joins with the Grand River, ushering you to your final destination at the new Rotary Park in Downtown Lansing. This trip is only for experienced kayakers who feel confident maneuvering around log jams, water hazards, and technical obstructions.
